Introduction

Associate Vicar for Christ Church Barnston with St Michael's Pensby

Associate Vicar: Christ Church Barnston with St Michael's Pensby

Do you have: - a heart to nurture discipleship in the context of community? - a passion to see the local church work out its commission from the doorstep to the wider world? - a desire to see ministry flourish amongst families and younger generations? If so, we'd be delighted to hear from you.

We are a lively, gospel-centred, bible-teaching church, with two sites serving the adjacent communities of Barnston and Pensby, Wirral. We are seeking to appoint an Associate Vicar to partner with us, serving across the parish, taking a leading role in pastoring the St Michael's Pensby congregation and helping our active membership develop our outreach, especially among families.

St Michael's enjoys a modern, well-equipped church centre situated by the crossroads at the heart of Pensby, with huge potential to play a significant role in the life of the local community. Please read the role description for further information about this exciting opportunity.

Apply via Pathways.

Closing date: Sunday 7th July 2024

Interviews:    Monday 22nd July 2024

Please note: The Diocese of Chester will not interview any candidates for posts if they cannot provide an assurance of a valid DBS and up to date safeguarding training.

The PCC has made a request to the Bishop, on grounds of theological conviction, that arrangements be made for it in accordance with the House of Bishops’ Declaration on the Ministry of Bishops and Priests (concerning women priests). There is therefore a requirement that the post-holder be a male priest. Please note: the conviction concerns the priority of maintaining the unity we enjoy across a range of views on this matter.
