Introduction

We are looking for someone who will bring fresh thinking and real energy to take us forward in our mission. We need someone who will respect our differing worship styles and traditions, who will be confident in bringing initiative and vision to our churches, who will care for us and the local community and help us to bring about change.

We are two different churches in the sense of tradition, location and facility but with one desire to share God’s love with all people across our communities. St Faith’s stands in the liberal Anglo-Catholic tradition centred on weekday eucharists and daily offices and with an extensive musical ministry. St Mary’s is a small, enthusiastic and multi generational church family who are committed to Inclusive Church.

We are offering you a warm welcome, our prayers, our enthusiasm and willingness to develop spiritually and try new ideas, committed and supportive ministry teams and respect for your time off.

The Vicarage is next door to St Faith’s and across the road from a Tesco Express and is a modern four bedroomed, detached property with pleasant gardens maintained by local landscape gardener.

Crosby and  Waterloo is a very attractive place to live with many pubs, bars, cafes and restaurants, a library and community run cinema  and popular walking spaces like Crosby beach with Antony Gormley’s Another Place and Rimrose Valley Country Park. Public transport links are very good to Liverpool city centre, 5 miles away.

The post is interim for 3 years and during that time the deanery would consider whether the post would become permanent.

For many years we have been working to achieve growth in our diocese. We have used different ways to express this but the aim and direction of travel has remained the same – consistent with the whole of the Church of England. We have articulated a vision for this growth by saying
we are asking God for a bigger church so that we can make a bigger difference:   more people knowing Jesus and more justice in the world.
In our diocesan vision we have identified four priority areas for our work in mission in this season:
  • Introducing people to God through Jesus Christ
  • Deepening discipleship, especially by means of our Rule of Life
  • Developing Christian leaders in every place
  • Working for justice

Closing Date:  Monday 8th July
Interview Dates: Tuesday 30th July
