Priest in Charge (0.5 FTE) of Blanchland with Hunstanworth and Edmundbyers & Muggleswick, and Shotley St John

Overview

The Bishop of Newcastle wishes to appoint a half-time (0.5FTE) priest to the Benefices of Blanchland with Hunstanworth and Edmundbyers & Muggleswick, and Shotley St John in the Deanery of Corbridge

Introduction

The people of the parishes of Blanchland with Hunstanworth and Edmundbyers & Muggleswick,  and Shotley St John are praying for a collaborative and encouraging people person, a priest who will re-invigorate our worshipping life, deepen our spirituality, grow our congregations larger, younger and more diverse, and help our churches to be outward-looking towards the wider communities.

Main Responsibilities

To be a lively and engaged presence in the worshipping communities and beyond, helping the parishes to thrive and to effectively collaborate with one another.

To further encourage and enable lay leadership and collaborative working patterns.

To develop local action plans which align with the deanery and diocesan vision of ‘Seeking, Sharing, Sending’, making best use of buildings and of financial and human resource.
