Introduction
An exciting opportunity for someone with a missional heart in a small market town on the Kent and Surrey borders.
We are seeking a Priest in Charge for the Parish of Edenbridge (Tonbridge Archdeaconry).
The ideal candidate will be someone who:
- is a strong missional leader, with the energy and enthusiasm to work with our Ministry Team and build on the good foundations already in place
- will guide us in deepening our faith and discipleship
- will encourage an increasing Christian presence in our communities
- will confidently and prayerfully lead us in a variety of worship
- will build up our ministry with children, young people and their households
- will help us reach parts of the parish with whom we currently have little contact
- will strengthen our ecumenical links in the area.
About us:
Edenbridge is located just north of the River Eden on the west border of the Diocese of Rochester, on the Kent borders with Sussex and Surrey. It has good transport links for commuting to London. Edenbridge is a small but growing town with a strong sense of community. It has a primary school and good links to secondary schools in the neighbouring towns.
The Church is Grade 1 Listed, with parts dating from Norman times. Many restorations, extensions and major works have been carried out over the centuries.
Worship is Said and Sung Eucharist, supported by a robed choir, plus a monthly All-Age service.
The Vicarage is a good sized four bedroom property with a large garden and plenty of parking. It is 500 yards from the church, off the main road into the town.
Our new incumbent will be supported by a strong ministry team and a parish administrator. Our benefice is committed to valuing your personal well-being and the need for rest and retreat.
