Introduction
Rector of the King’s Wood Benefice
We seek a new incumbent for the King’s Wood Benefice, a united benefice of four parishes with five parish churches between Canterbury and Ashford. This is a beautiful part of the world on one of the principal ancient pilgrim routes to Canterbury.
As churches we seek to be part of the community and a home for people of all ages; churches that care for people and meet their spiritual needs. Our PCCs and people share a common vision and values, that going forward with Jesus we seek to be:
- A valued presence in our communities.
- A place where everyone can belong and be loved.
- A place to find peace and to find God.
We are seeking a Rector who will lead us on to the next stage of our life as a benefice and who can help us ask the important questions, including:
- How well do our actions and attitudes reflect our vision and values?
- Are our current initiatives appropriate, balanced and realistic?
- Are we playing to our individual churches’ strengths AND sharing mission?
- What have we not asked ourselves?
Full details of the benefice can be found in the benefice profile. For an initial informal discussion please feel free to contact the Archdeacon of Canterbury, the Venerable Dr Will Adam, via Caroline Hemington (01227 473597; chemington@diocant.org)
Closing date: 30 September 2024
Proposed interview dates: 30 and 31 October 2024
