Do you have experience in working in the net zero carbon field, ideally with a knowledge of key issues and challenges on reaching net zero carbon?
The Diocese of Rochester and The Diocese of Canterbury are each seeking a Net Zero Advisor with strong networking skills and the ability to build good relationships with colleagues, volunteers and stakeholders.
These two new roles are funded for two years. Please specify in your application which location is your preference.
Key Responsibilities
The post-holder(s) will:
- Work as part of a joint Net Zero Programme Team for Rochester and Canterbury Dioceses
- Offer advice, information and sign posting support to parishes, including but not limited to fundraising and grant opportunities, technology updates, and case studies
- Ensure the Action Plan is a dynamic document, which is reviewed regularly and updated in line with Church of England and Diocesan environment policies
- Collate data on carbon emissions and chart the data against the Action Plan, summarise data and trends, and contribute to the writing of associated reports
- Improve the diocese’s data and knowledge, through supporting and encouraging parishes to complete the annual Energy Footprint Tool, and increasing response rates

The Ideal Candidate
You will have experience in the Net Zero Carbon field, a proven track record of strong networking skills, experience of assimilating data, and providing clear, good quality advice.

* Salary
Canterbury: From £29,767pa (plus DB/DC hybrid pension scheme – 11% employer contribution).
Rochester: From £31,518pa (plus DC pension scheme – 5% employer contribution).
