Introduction

Our Lady and St Nicholas is the Parish Church for the City of Liverpool, with a historic presence dating back to the 13th century. It is in the Catholic Anglican choral tradition and has a large, gathered, diverse congregation as well as many links with the local civic and maritime/military communities. There is an established ministry team of 4 self-supporting priests, one retired priest and a lay parish assistant. There is also a part-time parish administrator working from the parish centre attached to the Church.

We are looking for a new Rector who will continue to lead us as we grow from firm foundations in our position as an inclusive, living and dynamic presence of Christ within the City Centre and who will also challenge us with new ideas of their own.

We are seeking to appoint a priest:
• of deep faith and prayerfulness
• who is of the liberal Anglo-Catholic tradition and values the importance of excellent Eucharistic-focused liturgy and our music and choral tradition
• who can nurture our congregation and lead us in spiritual growth

And someone who:
• shares our open and inclusive values
• is outgoing and able to engage with all sectors of the parish and city
• is deeply committed to pastoral care
• is committed to our eco church aspirations
• can lead us as we continue to develop in line with our ‘Vision and Strategy’ document
