Introduction

There has been a reshaping of internal structures to better support the work of the Diocesan Office in delivering the strategy of Living Christ’s Story with the parishes and people of the Diocese of York.   Sitting within Parish Support, this role will support the new Head of HR & Governance to provide a comprehensive HR service to the office and officers of the diocese and oversight of the governance provision through Diocesan Synod and its committees, the policies and procedures of the diocese, and compliance with data regulations.

You will bring an enthusiasm for working with and for people combined with a commitment to accuracy, timeliness and good record keeping.  You will be engaged with the complete employee and office-holder life cycle from starting with the diocese through to finishing well.  This will include engagement with recruitment, onboarding, managing the development review cycle, and assisting with payroll.  In terms of governance, you will bring experience of clerking complex committees, managing workflows, and a desire to become involved in running the elections cycles for the diocese.  It is a diverse portfolio with a commitment to people at the heart of all activities.

We are committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion and especially welcome applications from disabled candidates and those from UKME heritage as these groups are under-represented in our staff.  We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and you will be required to undertake basic safeguarding training.

Only fully completed applications through Pathways will be accepted; applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
