This role provides a platform to exercise oversight leadership across the team as well opportunities to lead St Luke’s church in discipleship and development in a diverse church community which worships in a relaxed and informal way.
We are looking for an Incumbent with the following qualities:
- A gifted and missional evangelical able to exercise pastoral responsibility for St Luke’s, helping its members to develop and harness their gifts, whilst exercising oversight leadership for the whole team in a collaborative way with both lay and ordained leaders;
- Able to model a vibrant relationship with Jesus that shows pastoral care and deep prayer, as well as good and lively biblical teaching and preaching that helps congregations grow in number and depth;
- Able to exercise oversight and strategic leadership that brings the Team together in fresh and faithful ways in mission and service;
- Able to encourage and enable all-member ministry across all ages, especially among children and young people;
- Able to be open-hearted and compassionate, demonstrating sympathy and understanding of the diversity of the Team;
- Willing to serve the church and community by using their gifts and skills to exercise leadership in the wider community in West Bolton, including in schools and community projects connected with the team.
The benefice is at a pivotal time in its ministry as it seeks to grow in depth and numbers in ways which engage with the diversity of local communities in mission and evangelism, not least as part of Bolton Central Mission Community.
