Introduction

St John and St Luke, Bilton, is searching for a dynamic and collaborative Team Rector passionate about nurturing mission and ministry. Nestled in the charming Victorian spa town of Harrogate at the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, the parish is looking to grow as a place where everyone can find welcome, love and community.

The parish of St John and St Luke encompasses two very different but happily ‘married’ churches: the large, Victorian St John’s and the smaller, 1960s-built St Luke’s. As Team Rector, you will have particular responsibility for St John’s church while overseeing the future direction of the parish.

In this role, you will need teamwork and team leadership skills, a vision and drive for growth, and a willingness to embrace the opportunities and challenges that working across both churches brings. You will enjoy the support of a large, diverse team and a congregation that hides a wealth of knowledge, experience, and talent.

The parish has a particular passion for children’s and young people’s work, which will form an essential part of your ministry. You will also play a key role in supporting our Fresh Expression to reach some of the most vulnerable members of our community.
