Introduction
We are looking for an enthusiastic Rector who can build on the growth we have experienced in recent years, and lead us in discipleship, including in personal prayer, deepening of knowledge and faith through Bible teaching, and in giving generously. This post is being advertised as 0.50 FTE, which we hope will allow the successful applicant to work flexibly around a core commitment to St Michael’s.
The Parish of Hoole, consisting of Much Hoole, Little Hoole and parts of Walmer Bridge, is a welcoming community within an established semi-rural setting. We hope our Rector will live in the Rectory, which is centrally located.
St Michael's is a small, beautiful church in the semi-rural village of Much Hoole. The area is well located and a sought after place to live. Hoole is well connected to the local transport network in South Ribble. Preston, about seven miles to the north, is on the west coast trainline, and there is good access to the M61, M65 and M6 and it is easy to reach attractive countryside and coastal areas.
Our Vision
The PCC are wholly committed to, and have consistently ensured that their plans and actions are in accordance with, the Diocesan Vision 2026 and the strapline of Hoole St Michael’s ‘to know Christ and make Him known’.
We are looking for a priest who:
- will lead us in discipleship, including in personal prayer, deepening of knowledge and faith through Bible teaching, and in giving generously
- will be visible and active in the community
- Is a leader and willing to work as part of a team and who will support and encourage the ministries of our part time Curate, part time Children and Young People’s Minister, and Occasional Preacher.
- Is willing to delegate, has good communication and listening skills, and is able to relate to people of all ages - churchgoers and non-churchgoers alike.
Closing date: 27th February 2025
Interviews will be held on: 20th March 2025
