Introduction

We are seeking a talented and creative Communications Assistant to join our team and play a crucial role in shaping our communications. This new multifaceted role offers an exciting opportunity to work across various platforms, including social media, website management, content creation, and digital design. It is pivotal to our vision, growth, brand strength, awareness, and recognition.

The right person for this role will have a can-do attitude with a willingness to adapt to meet the needs of our small but very busy, and high profile, organisation.   Reporting to the Head of Communications, your work will span from social media and website to corporate reports, posters and publications, SEO monitoring and development, to content creation and video editing. In addition, you will work with our brand designer to help provide guidance to staff and senior leaders on transforming complex, and sometimes sensitive, information into visually engaging content, as well as support departments and parishes to improve their communications generally.

Experience is essential in writing, designing and editing text and visual content and using website management tools and social media. Being proactive, organised and able to meet deadlines is also key. Because it involves working across the organisation, you need to be good with people and be interested in what we and our parishes do. We are very happy to invest in the right person and can offer a range of training and support.

This role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact in an interesting role as part of a unique organisation that prides itself on being a supportive employer. At the Diocese of Truro, we value work-life balance and employee wellbeing. We offer additional benefits such as flexible working, up to 26 days holiday plus bank holidays, a range of wellbeing activities and the Church of England Pension Scheme with 9-15% employer contributions. More information on this here.

The closing date for applications is midnight on 11 February 2025 with interviews being held on 27 February 2025 in Truro.

For an informal discussion about the role please contact kelly.rowe@truro.anglican.org

Please note that whilst some home working is permitted this role cannot be done remotely and we do not pay staff to commute from outside Cornwall.

We welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons. However, we would particularly welcome applications from those with a disability, or from a UK minority ethnic background, as these groups are currently under-represented in our staff.

SAFEGUARDING - EVERYONE MATTERS - EVERYONE’S RESPONSIBILITY

The Diocese of Truro strives to be trauma informed, and is committed to developing safer policies, cultures, and practices.
