Introduction

Our Vicar

We are looking for a welcoming vicar who will be a visible presence in the parish, lead inspiring worship, and be committed to providing pastoral car. Our new vicar will develop outreach into our community; reaching new people from within the parish and beyond and making them welcome - ordinary people from anywhere, and from the extra-ordinary institutions based in our parish.

Our Parish

We are a thriving congregation that is tolerant and accommodating, with an attitude to faith that is open and questioning, about 7.5km southwest of the centre of London. Our church is opposite playing fields and just around the corner from the beautiful open spaces of Wandsworth Common.  Access to public transport is good.  Our Parish Hall is shared with a Nursery, but we have other spaces available for community and creative uses.  Our vicarage is a 4 bedroom house close to the church.

We engage with Wandsworth Prison, whose Licensed Lay Pastoral Minister is also a member of our clergy team, with Springfield University Hospital, and The Meadowcroft Care Home.  Almost 1,300 new homes are under construction at Springfield Village, which is a focus of outreach for our second Licensed Lay Pastoral Minister, led by our Ordained Curate, and supported by many volunteers active in our mission.

Our Plans

We are focused on continuous renewal of our faith, our mission and our buildings.  We are engaged in a programme of small improvements to make all our spaces more welcoming and accessible for more of the time, to more people, for more activities.  Our new vicar will help us to grow as a welcoming presence in our community, and beyond, working together with you in the love of God in a spirit of faith and renewal.
