Introduction
St James’ Church is a vibrant and growing evangelical church, with a charismatic and contemporary style of worship. It is located in the market-town of Clitheroe, Lancashire with a heart to grow the Kingdom of God in the Ribble Valley.
With an intergenerational, Holy Spirit dependent family culture, a committed lay leadership team, healthy finances and a clear vision for discipleship, we are seeking a Rector who will lead us deeper into faith and to see more people coming to know Jesus.

We are looking for a Rector who
- is an inspirational, Jesus-centred, Bible-focussed, visionary leader
- is open to, and moving in The Holy Spirit
- has good interpersonal skills
- will help develop our team model, building on the best of the past and present
- can lead decisively, can manage change well, and is sensitive to church culture
- can lead us strategically and pastorally to be Jesus-focussed but outward facing
- will inspire and encourage us to step out of our comfort zones
- can nurture an intergenerational church culture with a heart for all ages
- will champion outreach, social justice, and mission locally and globally
- is authentic, prayerful, humble, relational, trustworthy, wise and discerning
- will bring their own gifts, ministry, personality and passions
