Vacancy Reference cofe/TP/61196/8366
Introduction
Rector of Warrington (Team Vicar-Designate) and Area Dean of Warrington
Wanted: a parish priest to serve the congregation and civic ministry of Warrington Parish Church, who will also be area dean of Warrington.
If you are a priest with a heart for mission, a good leader and communicator, committed to collaborative ministry and with a heart for congregational and civic ministry in a town centre church, we would love to meet you. At Warrington Parish Church (St Elphin’s) you will find a congregation who will welcome you and work with you to take advantages of the many opportunities for mission here, and a supportive deanery embarking on an exciting journey towards becoming a team working together.
You will be responsible for the life of Warrington Parish Church and for the development of its liberal catholic worship and mission. You will take the lead for civic ministry and engagement across the deanery, and as area dean you will lead on the deanery’s engagement in the public square as well as being responsible for pastoral care of clergy and others in ministry. You will work closely with the team-rector-designate who will be responsible for strategic mission and ministry planning, finance and deployment.
The deanery team says: “Warrington Deanery is exploring becoming a larger single parish together as part of the Fit for Mission programme. All 12 of our parishes are currently part of the journey, which is unique in the diocese and reflects the good relationships already there and the strong partnerships the clergy have with each other. This is a great time to join us as you’ll be able to be part of the shaping of the new larger single parish, and the role of the area dean within it, as well as your leadership of the Warrington Parish Church. We would love to see someone join us, who will be committed to being part of this journey together, and who’ll bring an enthusiasm for seeing our churches grow, and the kingdom extended.”
This is a full-time stipendiary appointment, and a large and attractive rectory is provided next to Warrington Parish Church.
