Introduction
Vicar for St Luke’s, Wimbledon Park
St Luke’s is a well-established, conservative evangelical church at the heart of a family-friendly community in Wimbledon Park, SW London, and is within the Diocese of Southwark. Our desire is to see lives transformed by the hope and joy of Jesus as we grow in our faith and in numbers. With a strong commitment to reaching out to our parish and beyond, we long to share the Gospel with those around us.
We are prayerfully seeking a godly, servant-hearted and experienced Church of England minister with strong interpersonal skills, who will faithfully teach the Bible and work together with us to develop renewed vision, spiritual growth and greater community engagement. In particular, we are looking for a minister who:
- Is an able expository bible teacher who will encourage us to apply scripture to our everyday lives, and models this personally
- Is a good communicator and a collaborative, encouraging and supportive leader
- Has energy and enthusiasm, combining vision with practical action
- Has experience in Parish ministry including church growth, families’ work and enabling people to grow in godliness
- Will encourage us pastorally and develop the gifts of all church members
- Has an understanding and experience of managing people, teams and finances
- Is prepared, at the current time, to stay and contend for the Gospel within
the C of E
As a church we are excited about moving forward with a new minister, whom we will support in prayer, personally and practically with all our available resources. St Luke’s is under alternative episcopal oversight from the Bishop of Ebbsfleet.
