Introduction

Holy Trinity, Lamorbey is an open, friendly and community-focussed church in the Anglo-catholic tradition.  We welcome ministry from both men and women.

We hope our next parish priest will have the following qualities/attributes:

* A prayerful and inspiring leader, able to relate to all ages and willing to work with all existing church and community groups.

* Has a kind, loving and patient disposition with a breadth of experience and good communication skills.

* Able to work collaboratively with our laity, respecting our strong liturgical and musical traditions.

* Has a desire for growing our congregation and reaching new age-groups, encouraging us to share fellowship and engage with the wider community.

* Able to inspire us with new ideas for activities & fund-raising events.

Worship on a Sunday is usually Said Mass at 8.30am (currently paused) and Sung Mass at 10am (with incense, cross and candles).  Our Sung worship is supported by a committed robed choir and attended by around 70-80 (including young families).  There is a Said Mass on Wednesday mornings which is well attended.

The church is a well-maintained, stone-built church set within large and well-kept lawns.  The church hall is opposite the church, originally built as the Church School,  with two halls, a large kitchen, storage space and the Parish Office.  It benefits from a large carpark (with parking spaces let to local businesses during the week) and further office space which has a long-term letting agreement in place.

The Vicarage was purpose-built in 1980.  It has 4 good-sized bedrooms and spacious downstairs accommodation.  The bathroom and kitchen were refurbished in 2019 when the property also benefited from some redecoration works.

Links with the Church School are very good, with a well-established pattern of a Year Group coming into church each Wednesday during Term-time at 11am.

Our thriving uniformed groups remain popular, with approx 100 young people participating in our Scout groups, and 40-50 attending Brownies/Guides.

Other Community Links are good, with an active Mother's Union, Social Club for the over 60's, links with the local Drama & Performing Arts College, as well as other local schools who use our church for Harvest, Remembrance, Carols and other special services.

You will be supported by a loyal and dedicated Team of Readers, PAs, full complement of PCC and churchwardens, and a part-time employed Parish Administrator.

The wider a group’s diversity, the smarter, wiser, and more compassionate and creative its decision making becomes.  We are committed to achieving diversity throughout our Diocese by seeking UKME/GMH colleagues and those from a wide range of backgrounds, to help us create a culture of inclusion and belonging.
