Introduction

Children and Families Worker – Paulsgrove, Portsmouth

God loves Paulsgrove - a vibrant community full of honest, hard-working people, many of whom face real challenges. And God is already at work here. Over the past couple of years, St Michael’s has experienced renewed life, energy, and growth in faith.

Now, with the support of the National Church, we’re excited to invite someone who has a heart for children and families to join us full-time as our Children and Families Worker.

This is a key role, and we’re looking for someone who can:

  • Nurture and grow the faith of children and families already connected to our church.
  • Build strong relationships in the wider community, especially with families and young people who are not yet part of church life.
  • Help us shape a church that is welcoming, joyful, and relevant to the lives of local families.
  • Be a visible and approachable presence in schools, homes, and community spaces.
  • Be part of God’s transforming mission to revitalise in a community He holds close to His heart.

Working closely with the Priest in Charge you'll be sympathetic to our liberal catholic heritage, but have the freedom to bring fresh energy, ideas and passion for working with families in a community that matters deeply to God.
